Why we built haloboard

On June 12 we launched haloboard.

The idea came from something we kept seeing.

People rarely remember a quick "Happy Birthday" in Slack or a short message in a group chat. They remember the collection of messages, photos and videos that everyone took the time to contribute.

Celebrations create memories.

That is true at work and just as true with friends and family.

Companies spend a lot of time thinking about employee engagement, employee recognition and company culture. Yet some of the moments people remember most are the simplest. A work anniversary. A promotion. A farewell. A welcome back after a long leave. A thank you after a big project.

Outside work, the same applies. Birthdays, weddings, graduations, new babies and retirements deserve something more personal than another chat message.

That is why we built haloboard.

haloboard brings together messages, photos and videos from everyone into one beautiful celebration that can be shared and replayed long after the day has passed.

There are already products in this space, including Kudoboard and several employee recognition platforms. We are taking a different approach. We are not trying to become another employee engagement platform. We want to build the easiest and most enjoyable way to celebrate the people who matter.
